About wonarth

One person.
Just begun.

A founder, a thesis, an incorporation in progress. Nothing more, today.

Founder note
My mother left Delhi for Kerala three summers ago because the heat she had lived in for forty years stopped being something her body would negotiate with. I have a daughter. I am not going to let her grow up in the city my mother had to leave. That is the founding moment of wonarth. Everything else is consequence.

I am Prashant Kumar Nair, an Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India. wonarth is a separate non-profit venture from my legal practice and is not a feeder for it.

The name reads on three layers: won-earth (Earth as something to be won back), one-earth (singular shared planet), and one-arth — where arth in Sanskrit means purpose, meaning, wealth, one of the four purusharthas. The third reading is the spine.

Where we are today

What is filed.
What is not yet.

Section 8 incorporation is in process. PAN, TAN, and a current account follow incorporation. Filings under Section 12A and Section 80G of the Income Tax Act 1961 will follow incorporation. We do not currently accept any contributions, domestic or foreign. FCRA registration has not been filed.

The first plantation drive will happen only after incorporation, MoUs with land partners, species sourcing, and a documented budget. Until that work is published, no specific outcome is being represented.
